Paul Hamlyn Foundation - Act for Change Fund

Monday, 1 April 2019 - 5:00pm

Grants of between £20,000 and £100,000 are available over two years for organisations with a track record in helping to deliver youth-led social change. The fund provides resources to organisations supporting young people to challenge social injustice, find ways of overcoming inequality and give voice to the issues they are experiencing.

Many young people want to see change in their communities and the world around them. The Fund encourages applications that seek to make change. Change-making activities could involve, but are not limited to: campaigning, advocacy, direct action, mobilisation, lobbying for change, engagement, coalition building, legal challenges or movement building.

It is expected that a total of around 30 organisations will receive support through this programme.

Larger grants will be considered on an exceptional basis.

 There is a two stage process.

Stage 1 includes an eligibility quiz and some qualifying questions which need to be submitted by Monday 1 April 2019.

Applicants will be notified if they are eligible to progress to Stage 2 and will need to complete a more detailed application form by Monday 3 June 2019.

Applications will need to demonstrate:

How they reach and support young people (aged 14-25) with lived experience of inequality or injustice to challenge the root causes of disadvantage, and create change.

How young people lead change or are poised to lead change, with the support of their organisation, with young people in decision-making positions at all or many levels;

How this funding will help their organisation improve their impact, reach or sustainability in relation to youth-led social action for change.
