Background

The Artemis Charitable Foundation was established in 2007 to manage the charitable activities of Artemis, a leading UK-based fund manager.

Each year, Artemis gives a proportion of revenues to the Foundation to distribute.

In 2021, the foundation awarded over £770,000 to 88 charities.

Objectives of Fund

This fund aims to support UK-registered charities in the UK and internationally in the areas of health, poverty, education, and the environment.

Value Notes

Grants tend to be in the range of £1,000 to £10,000.

Although one-off awards are typically made, multi-year grants may be considered when a successful partnership is established.

Award amounts may increase if a successful partnership develops into a multi-year relationship.

Unrestricted funding can also be considered.

Who Can Apply

UK-registered charities operating both in the UK and internationally can apply.

Priority will be given to small-and-medium-sized charities with an income of less than £2 million per annum.  

Eligible Expenditure

Funding is intended for projects in the following key areas:

  • Health.
  • Education.
  • Poverty.
  • Environment.

Preference will be given to projects that are innovative and can be scaled up or replicated.

How To Apply

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The trustee’s meet at the end of each month to consider applications.

Applicants must provide:

  • A cover letter.
  • A brief proposal.
  • Basic financial information, including a summary of income and expenditure from their latest annual accounts.

Completed applications must be submitted by email.
