Survey - Community Participation in the Local Charity Sector

KCSC has launched a brand-new programme - The Kensington and Chelsea Together programme (K&CT)- aiming to increase diversity and help residents and local community members play a more active role in charities, social enterprises and community organisations across the borough.

As a first step, we have developed a survey to help us get an understanding of peoples’ experiences and perceptions of the opportunities and barriers they face to accessing roles within the charity and community sector in Kensington and Chelsea.

Vacancies - Community Consultants for K&CT Steering Group

KCSC want to recruit 3 Community Consultants to the Kensington & Chelsea Together (K&CT) Steering Group, to help shape our new programme's design, and provide local advice and insight to the staff team. The K&CT group will work with residents and organisations to ensure that local communities have a greater say in the design and delivery of programmes and services in the borough.

Covid 19 Recovery Planning in London

The London Recovery Board is seeking input into how London can recover following the pandemic. Your views are needed on the 7 missions that will steer the strategy for London’s recovery.

Briefing Session: Recovery priorities for civil society

Join London Plus and the GLA on Thursday 20 August 2020 at 11am for an online briefing on recovery priorities for civil society.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and feedback your views after the session.

Black History Month: Grants Scheme

A new small grants scheme offers up to £500 to support events and activities to mark October’s Black History Month.

Expression of Interest are welcomed from anyone interested in being part of the one-off assessment panel.

‘Meet the Funder’ - Arts Council England

Friday 21 August 2020, 10.00am-11:00am via Zoom

KCSC are working in partnership with SOBUS and One Westminster to offer a series of online ‘Meet the Funder’ events, available to voluntary and community organisations working in Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster or Hammersmith and Fulham.

Priority will be given to questions organisations submit by email in advance. Please send any questions you would like to ask to [email protected].

This online Forum is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.

Risk Assessment Training Session

Thursday 3 September 2020, 3.00pm - 4.00pm via Zoom

Following on from the RBKC presentation of 'Best Practice Guidance for Safe Reopening of Community Centres', this session will comprise a short presentation on carrying out, recording and reviewing risk assessments relating to Coronavirus, and will be followed by a Q&A session.

This virtual meeting is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.

Funding

Common Call COVID Fund

Grants between £1K and £3K available to UK based organisations led by people that identify as Black or Mixed with Black. Specifically, organisations creating impact in deprived communities and providing services to people that have been adversely affected by the Covid crisis.

Deadline: 31 August 2020, 7.00pm

COVID Recovery Fund

Grants of up to £50,000 are available for small and local charities that are working to help people overcome complex social issues, such as dependency, homelessness and domestic abuse, so that they can recover beyond the immediate COVID-19 crisis.

Deadline: 11 September 2020, 5.00pm

Theatre Improvement Scheme

Grants of up to £20,000 are available for not-for-profit theatres towards capital improvement projects. The theme for 2020 is Improving Environmental Sustainability.

Deadline: 13 September 2020, 12.00pm

Phoenix Fund

Emergency grants are available for organisations that are led by representatives of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities to support core costs.

Deadline: 30 September 2020, 5.00pm
