     Decision Day

Today Kensington and Chelsea College decides its future... stand-alone or merge

One of my privileges is to sit on the board of our local college. After a period of what can only be described as turmoil (and that is the polite phrase), the board stands on the precipice of a decision of such significant magnitude as to involve ministers of State. I am not at liberty to say how I feel about this decision whether I will vote one way or another but anyone who knows me will be aware that this decision for me is all about community. If the stand-alone option offers the most integrated community focussed option then I will feel duty bound to vote accordingly but... Morley College has been impressive and has certainly listened to elements of our community.

Stand-alone may offer other huge advantages to the community with the prospect of redeveloping the site.

Whatever happens education in this area is about to get a real shot in the arm... about time.

Men's Shed update....

After an age, well it seems an age, tendering for the project and the interviews for the candidates to provide the Shed will soon be over. Interest in providing it has been good. I believe by the next E-Bulletin KCSC will be able to announce who will provide the Men's Shed and where it will be located. Must say I can't wait.

The next e-bulletin will hopefully report on the update from the "Governance Review" and the paper put in by The Grenfell Network Group.

Also, there will be a round-up of community initiatives which I know to be "bubbling under".

Kind Regards

Joe Batty
