Emergency First Aid at Work

This one day training course is designed to suit all employees, including designated first aiders. In the event of an emergency, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to deliver potentially life-saving assistance. Upon successful completion, first aiders will receive certification to allow them to practice for three years. No prior knowledge of the topic is required.

Employers’ legal duties

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed. Read more about the regulations on the government website. First aid regulations relating to the workplace will be covered as part of the course.  

Programme

• Introduction and explanation.
• First aid health and safety regulations.
• Learn about the priorities of first aid and how to manage an incident safely.
• Treatments of unconsciousness, Shock, bleeding and common workplace injuries.
• Combination of practical and theory sessions to deal with first aid emergencies.
• Learn how to administer first aid in a variety of situations.

Important information:

• Staff attending should not be expected to be on duty.
• Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session.
• This training is for Kensington & Chelsea Voluntary organisations
• There is only 1 place per organisation as spaces are limited. Small organisations with an income below £500,00 will be given priority.

Cancellations

Attendees who fail to show up without notifying us at least 3 days in advance of the event start time in writing or by email are liable to be charged a cancellation fee of £30.
