Head_Space: The Environment

Registration is closed for this event
The second event in our brand new series of interactive talks for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in Kensington and Chelsea.

Head_Space events are designed to spark fresh thinking, innovation and inspiration, for an audience of residents, activists and socially-focused organisations.

The second event is themed around the environment; we will host a series of speakers for ‘Ted talk’ style presentations exploring urban planning and regeneration, environmental impact on wellbeing and how local organisations can benefit from renewable energy. The event will include a 20 minute live Q&A giving attendees the chance to discuss ideas and hear thoughts from the panel.

Speakers:

  • Dave Fuller is the project manager for Repowering London. Dave is responsible for bringing community owned rooftop solar projects to life, working with local authorities, site owners, individual members and community groups. He will be talking on Repowering’s 7 year history and the need to be adaptable to local needs and include community members into any project planning and decision making process
  • Liza Fior is the founding partner of Muf architecture/art and Professor of Architecture and Spatial practise at UAL’s Central St Martins. Muf was awarded the 2008 European Prize for Public Space for the new town square for Barking. She is the co-author of This is What We Do: A Muf manual (Batsford Ltd, 2001) and Design Advisor to the London Mayor
  • Oliver Gingrich has a keen interest in the emerging and almost omnipresent communion that exists between visual arts and new technologies. Oliver lives and produces the totality of his work in his Notting Hill studio, in London. With a diploma in Visual Arts (Central Saint Martins), a master’s degree in Digital Arts (University of Applied Arts, Vienna) and a doctorate in Media, Oliver manages to intercept, link, and amalgamate an interesting conceptual vision into his creative offering, using an extensive variety of visual resources such as photography, digital art, acrylic painting on canvas and holographic projections.

Our previous event, Head_Space: The Power of Communities, was very popular, so book now to avoid disappointment!

Head_space is completely free for residents and organisations working with residents living in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Food and refreshments will be provided.

This event is funded by RBKC and is part of the Grenfell Community Leadership Programme.
