Free training helping you recognise indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond.

Modern Slavery affects millions of people worldwide, with thousands of people being exploited in the UK.  This session will explore how you can support some of the most vulnerable people in the community and help prevent this crime from happening.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understanding the definition of modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Looking at the different types of exploitation
  • Recognising the signs to identify individuals who are at risk/are being exploited
  • Examining relevant legislation, such as the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the National Referral Mechanism
  • Exploring barriers that prevent victims/survivors disclosing exploitation
  • Understanding how to respond when we identify potential victims/survivors

This session will focus on adult victims/survivors of modern slavery and will make limited reference to children. Separate child trafficking training is available via the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) website.
