Vulnerable People and Climate Change Project: working with older people in London

Has your organisation considered how climate change will affect life here in the UK, and what this will mean for older people?

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) is running a two-year project to help organisations supporting vulnerable people in England to explore the impact that climate change may have on their beneficiaries, and on their work.

What’s on offer

This is a chance to work with climate change experts and other organisations in your field to:

  • learn about the impact of climate change on London
  • identify the issues that will have the biggest effect on your service users and your work
  • share this information with some of your beneficiaries
  • consider how your organisation could respond
  • put your decisions into action. And it's free to take part!

The programme

The programme includes:

  • three one-day workshops
  • an exercise for your trustees
  • a short beneficiary engagement project
  • an optional organisational eco audit.

These activities will run between autumn 2011 and summer 2012.

Why take part?

This project will help your organisation:

  • get to grips with climate change – one of society’s biggest challenges
  • focus on your service users’ future needs
  • strengthen your strategic planning skills and processes
  • boost your profile with decision makers, funders, beneficiaries and supporters
  • lead the way in creating a fair and sustainable future.

Deadline to apply:
