Kensington and Chelsea Partnership

The Kensington and Chelsea Partnership (KCP) was set up in 2002 to bring together local public organisations such as the Council, the Police and Primary Care Trust, to work alongside the voluntary sector, business and community groups.

It aims to join-up services within the borough, plan locally for the long-term, and improve quality of life in the borough, especially in more deprived neighbourhoods.

A Steering Group acts as the ‘board’ for the Partnership, meeting every two months. It contains representatives from each of the organisations and sectors within the Partnership including the voluntary sector. Amongst its responsibilities are the formal scrutiny and decision-making functions which are required of Local Strategic Partnerships.

The Community Strategy

The KCP publishes the Community Strategy. This is the 'vision document' for Kensington and Chelsea. It sets out aims and objectives and outlines for new projects and policy.

The current version is entitled 'The Future of Our Community, - Community Strategy 2008 – 2018 and is available to download on this page.

The document is suplemented by 'A Picture of Our Community' which provides facts and figures about various aspects of life in the Borough and also a delivery plan that sets out how the aims and objectives in the Strategy will be achieved. These, together with a delivery plan progress report can be downloaded from the main KCP website.

The Kensington and Chelsea Compact

Agreed ways of working between voluntary and community sector organisations and local statutory bodies such as the council and NHS K&C are published in the Kensington and Chelsea Compact. This document was most recently renewed in May 2011.

This new concise version is essential reading for all local voluntary and community organisations. Read more and download your copy from our K&C Compact page.
